Gladiators Sign Michigan Tech Defenseman

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have signed Drew Dobson, a Michigan Tech University product, to an amateur tryout contract. A 22-year-old defenseman, Dobson recently completed his senior season with the Huskies, where he scored four goals and added 12 assists while skating in all 36 regular season contests.
Dobson, a Palatine, Illinois native, recorded 12 goals and 45 assists and served 220 penalty minutes in 135 total games during his four years at Michigan Tech. Prior to skating with the Huskies, Dobson played two junior seasons with the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League, scoring seven goals and 32 assists for 39 points while adding 172 penalty minutes in 107 games from 2004 to 2006.
The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Saturday, March 20th vs. Trenton at 7:05 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
