Gladiators Round Off Week One of Training Camp

Las Vegas, NV, February 11, 2007- The Las Vegas Gladiators have finished their first week of training camp. They have continued to improve and excel in many areas and with the addition of Thabiti Davis and Montiese Culton in the Wide Receiver position the level of skill continues to grow.
Davis who is a four-year AFL Veteran and Culton who played for the Indianapolis Colts will help bring some more depth to the receiver position. "Davis and Culton both did well in practice" remarked Coach Barto. "They are going to be two strong additions to the wide receiver position".
Coach Barto continues to see strength in WR Reggie Harrell. "Reggie had a very strong day of practice yesterday. He continues to improve day in and day out. With his size, speed and hands he has a chance to be a very good player", said Coach Barto.
Defensive Back Earthwind Moreland caught Coach Barto's eye in yesterdays practice. "Earthwind made some big time plays yesterday. I have enjoyed Earthwind's work ethic and competitive nature" said Coach Barto.
Head Coach Barto and his staff continue to bring the intensity on to the field, and expect nothing less from their players. Coach Barto has a record of winning and creating successful teams, and has made it very clear to each player on the field, they are there to win and win only. Gladiators currently have 37 players on their roster and in two weeks as per league rules must cut down to a 24-man roster. The next two weeks will continue provide evidence for the Coaches of those who have what it will take to turn this team around.
Training camp is open to the public and practices are held outside the Orleans Arena. The first practice begins at 9:30-11:30 and the second practice goes from 2:45-4:45pm.
The Gladiators will kickoff their 5th season on the road March 4th against the Austin Wranglers at 1pm. Season tickets for the 2007 Las Vegas Gladiators home schedule are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Las Vegas Gladiators office at 702-731-4977.
