Gladiators name Sam Jankovich General Manager

Las Vegas, August 22, 2006 - The Las Vegas Gladiators named Sam Jankovich as the team's General Manager it was announced today by Gladiators' owner James L. Ferraro. Jankovich will oversee the day-to-day operation of the team's front office.
Jankovich was Athletic Director for the University of Miami from 1983-1991. He held a similar post with the Washington State University in 1976. Jankovich also served as CEO of the NFL's New England Patriots from 1991-1993 and was an interim Athletic Director with Cal State-Northridge.
Jankovich was born in Butte, Montana and lettered in football while playing for the University of Montana in 1957. He played linebacker and offensive line. A knee injury ended his career.
After graduation, Jankovich coached a couple of Montana high school football teams and would later become defensive coordinator with Washington State University in 1968.
