Gladiators make roster moves

Las Vegas, NV, April 6, 2005 – The Las Vegas Gladiators announced today they have re-signed AFL veteran WR/LB Ricky Ross, activated FB/LB Cameron Chance and placed OL/DL Thaddeus Bullard on injured reserve. They also released WR/LB Anthony Payton and re-signed him to the practice squad.

Ross (5'11", 187, Missouri) was with the Gladiators until March 13, 2005, before he was waived. He re-joins the Gladiators after playing for the expansion Philadelphia Soul last season and the previous three years with the Grand Rapids Rampage. Last season, with the Soul, Ross played in 12 games and was second on the team in receptions with 57 for 756 yards and 16 touchdowns. He rushed the ball eight times for 30 yards with three touchdowns. He also returned 30 kicks for 587 yards. On defense, he tallied 16 total tackles with two tackles for a loss of five yards. While with the Rampage, he played with current Gladiators' quarterback Clint Dolezel and OL/DL Lucas Yarnell as they teamed-up to win the ArenaBowl during the 2001 season.

Chance (6'0", 270, San Diego State) has been on injured reserve for the first 10 games of the season after dislocating his thumb in training camp. He played six games last season for the Gladiators and tallied seven total tackles, one tackle for a loss, one fumble recovery and one pass breakup. Prior to joining Las Vegas, he played nine games with the now defunct Detroit Fury before being waived.

The Gladiators comeback home to the Thomas & Mack Center this Friday, April 8 to take on the Rampage in week 11. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. PT and can be heard on ESPN Radio 920 with John Hanson and Mike Pritchard calling the game.
