Gladiators Fall in Tampa

TAMPA - The Cleveland Gladiators lost for the first time since the season opener, with a 69-48 loss to the Tampa Bay Storm in front of 8,686 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Friday night. With the loss, the Gladiators three-game winning streak was snapped, and they fall to 3-2 on the year. The Storm improves to 3-2.

John Dutton threw for a season-high 363 yards and six touchdowns on 34-of-49 passing, but was intercepted three times. Robert Redd and Dominick Goodman each reached the century mark with receiving yards, 140 and 128, respectively. Redd hauled in three touchdowns, while Goodman, Thyron Lewis and Tim Cheatwood each had one in the game.

The Storm were led offensively by quarterback Stephen Wasil who completed 19-of-28 passes for 248 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. Gladiators defensive back Levy Brown intercepted both of Wasil's passes.

Amarri Jackson led the Storm receiving corps with 92 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Defensively, Lendy Holmes intercepted one of Dutton's passes as it bounced off the rebound net, taking it 53-yards for a pick-six touchdown.

The Gladiators return to The Q next Saturday, April 21 when they host the Jacksonville Sharks at 7:30 pm.
