Wasil Carries Storm To 69-48 Victory Over Cleveland

TAMPA BAY - Quarterback Stephen Wasil passed for six touchdowns and ran for two more as the Tampa Bay Storm (3-2) defeated the Cleveland Gladiators, 69-48, Friday night on the Amalie Motor Oil Field at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Cleveland (3-2) had won three in a row and were led by Quarterback John Dutton's 6 touchdowns and Robert Redd's 12 catches for 140 yards and three TDs.

Tampa built a three score lead early in the 3rd period on Chandler Williams' first TD of the game, 55-34.

The Storm led, 34-27, at halftime on Wasil's 3 TD passes, two of those to Victor Williams of 26 and 29 yards.

In the 3rd period, Tampa Bay's Amarri Jackson collected a pair of Wasil TD passes of 7 and 14 yards. This gave the Storm a 48-34 margin going into the 4th quarter.

Defensively, the Storm intercepted Dutton three times and held the Glads on downs. Tampa Bay converted those two of the picks and the downs turnover miscues into scores.
