Duke City Gladiators News Release
Albuquerque, NM - Albuquerque's very own professional indoor football team has officially and successfully completed its inaugural season for 2015. The Duke City Gladiators finished the season with a winning league record of 5-4 and an overall record of 7-4. The Gladiators originally had one more home game scheduled for the 6th of June, but was cancelled due to their opponent the Salina Bombers not being in good standing with the Champion Indoor Football League's guidelines and bylaws. There is no rescheduled date for the June 6th game, "as the Salina Bombers membership with the CIF has been suspended pending further investigation" according to the CIF website. More information to be released at the press conference scheduled for 12 PM on Wednesday June 3rd at Hotel Cascada.
The success the Duke City Gladiators have had this season has been nothing short of remarkable. The organization being officially just 14 weeks old, has made tremendous strides in becoming a "Duke City Namesake" with the community coming together and backing such an organization they can take pride in. The Gladiators have created such a relationship with the community that it has been etched into the very fabric of what the Duke City is all about. This season was one for the history books as putting a professional sports franchise together within 3 weeks has never been heard of nor been done.
"Even though this season has come to an end, the work never stops and we are already gearing up for next season," says General Manager Matt Caward. The Gladiators organization is looking to continue its partnerships and would ask that if any business would like to partner with a successful organization, the Duke City Gladiators are the perfect platform. Head Coach Dominic Bramante and players will be on hand at the press conference to talk about the games, players, and more from this season. And General Manager Matt Caward will also be available for comments regarding the league's decisions.
Press conference to announce the end of the season for the Duke City Gladiators and its explanation will take place on Wednesday June 3rd , 2015 at 12:00 PM at Hotel Cascada on Carlisle & I-40 (2500 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110 - North of I-40). All media outlets are invited to attend. There will be some finger foods and beverages on hand.
As a further commitment to the community, the Gladiators will be hosting an end of the season Charity Ball on Sunday June 7th at 7 PM. Tickets are just $35 and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation. A
