Cleveland Gladiators News Release

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Gladiators and DE JOE MINUCCI have come to terms on a two-year deal, the Gladiators announced today. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Minucci (6-3, 298, Delaware) was the first-overall selection by the Gladiators in the Arena Football League's 2007 Dispersal Draft. The 2008 season was his fourth in the AFL and first with the Gladiators.

In 2008, Minucci appeared in 17 games (15 regular season, two postseason) - all starts. In Week 16 at Philadelphia, he suffered a knee injury and missed the regular season finale versus Columbus and the Gladiators Wild Card playoff game versus Orlando. He returned for the Gladiators win over Georgia and loss to Philadelphia in the National Conference Championship game.

In his 15 regular season games, Minucci led the Gladiators with 6.5 sacks, finished with 27.5 tackles and tied for the team lead with four forced fumbles.

"Joe was a big key to our success in 2008," Gladiators President BERNIE KOSAR said. "We are excited to see Joe back in a Gladiators uniform as we move forward."

The Cleveland Gladiators want to thank the fans and the ENTIRE city of Cleveland for their tremendous support during their Inaugural Season of AFL action in Cleveland. Season ticket packages for the 2009 season are on sale now and can be purchased by contacting the Gladiators at 216.685.9000. Fans can also visit www.clevelandgladiators.com.
