
Gladiators Add Quarterback Rohan Davey

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Gladiators today signed former LSU standout quarterback and New England Patriots backup ROHAN DAVEY. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Davey (6-3, 245, LSU) joins the Gladiators after playing the first four games of the 2008 season with the New York Dragons. Davey saw his first action on March 3 playing against the Gladiators, replacing injured starter Aaron Garcia. Davey finished 21-of-30 passes for 249 yards and five touchdowns in that game. In his four games (three starts) this season, Davey totaled 825 yards on 67-of-114 passing and 14 touchdowns.
Davey spent the entire 2007 Arena Football League season with the Dragons, appearing in all 16 regular season games (nine starts). He completed 216-of-364 passes for 2,612 yards and 45 touchdowns during his rookie campaign.
Originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the 5th round of the 2002 NFL Draft (116th overall), Davey played with the Patriots from 2002-2004, serving as a backup to Tom Brady. He earned two world championships as the Patriots won Super Bowl XXXIX and XXXVI.
