Las Vegas Gladiators News Release
LAS VEGAS, NV (March 21, 2006) - The Las Vegas Gladiators today activated three-year pro Marlion Jackson off injured reserve in time for Friday's Western Conference battle with the Utah Blaze.
Jackson suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter during a road loss to Dallas in Week 5. At the time, Jackson was the Arena Football League's leading rusher with 84 rushing yards from scrimmage. The former Saginaw Valley State standout still holds the AFL's highest average yards per rush this season (5.6 yards per carry) and is still ranked third in rushing yardage despite missing three starts.
Las Vegas acquired Jackson last season after a Week-Six trade with Philadelphia for future considerations. The Gladiators released WR/LB Maurice Bryant to open a roster spot for Jackson.
Friday, March 24 at 6:00 p.m. (pacific) the Las Vegas Gladiators will be on the road taking on the Utah Blaze in a Western Conference showdown. Tune in to ESPN 920 for live radio coverage, Andrew Siciliano with play-by-play and Mike Pritchard with color commentary. Las Vegas's next home contest will be on Sunday, April 2 at 3:00 p.m. (pacific) versus the Los Angeles Avengers. For tickets call (702) 739-FANS or log onto UNLVtickets.com.
