SAN JOSE, CA - Jose Vizcaino, Jr. drove in three runs and Jason Forjet took a shutout into the seventh inning in San Jose's 4-2 victory over the Stockton Ports on Wednesday evening at Municipal Stadium. The Giants (9-8) have now won the first two games of the series with Stockton and claimed a season-high three straight victories overall.

Vizcaino, Jr. (2-for-4, 3 RBI) delivered a two-out, two-run single during a key sixth-inning rally for San Jose while also driving in a run in the eighth to lead the offensive attack. Chris Shaw (2-for-4) added a pair of hits for the Giants.

Forjet (2-1) tossed 6 1/3 innings with two runs allowed (both earned) to pick-up the win. The right-hander surrendered just four hits, walked two and struck out one during his 89-pitch performance. Pat Young (2/3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 SO), Reyes Moronta (1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 SO) and Rodolfo Martinez (1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 SO) then combined for 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to seal the victory. Martinez earned his league-leading fifth save of the season.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the sixth when the Giants broke through with three runs. Ports starting pitcher Casey Meisner, who had allowed just two singles over the first five innings, issued a one-out walk to C.J Hinojosa to start the rally. Shaw followed with a line drive single into center to put runners on first and second. Aramis Garcia then hit a potential double play grounder to third that was juggled initially by Stockton third baseman Jose Brizuela. Brizuela then made a hurried throw to first that sailed past first baseman Sandber Pimentel and into foul territory. The error allowed Hinojosa to score the first run of the game while Shaw advanced to third and Garcia moved into second. Meisner recovered to strikeout the next hitter, Steven Duggar, before Vizcaino, Jr. stepped to the plate and lined a clutch two-out single into right. The hit plated both Shaw and Garcia for a 3-0 advantage.

Meanwhile, Forjet surrendered just two singles over six scoreless innings to begin his start. Forjet used double plays to end the first and fifth innings while also stranding two runners in scoring position in the top of the fourth. He at one point in his start retired eight straight Ports batters.

Trailing 3-0, Stockton finally scored against Forjet in the top of the seventh when Seth Brown connected for a one-out solo homer to deep left center. Mikey White followed with a single to end Forjet's night. Young was summoned from the bullpen, but he promptly uncorked a wild pitch before allowing an RBI single to Brizuela which cut the Giants lead to 3-2. Young though settled down to retire the next two hitters, Argenis Raga and Pimentel, on a groundout and a strikeout respectively to keep the lead intact.

Moronta pitched the top of the eighth for San Jose and allowed a one-out single to B.J. Boyd. However with Joe Bennie at the plate, Boyd was thrown out at second by Garcia attempting to steal. Moronta then struck out Bennie to end the inning.

The Giants pushed across an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth to extend their lead to 4-2. Shaw started the inning with a single before Duggar singled to put runners on first and third. Vizcaino, Jr. was up next and he grounded a single through the hole on the right side to plate Shaw with the final run of the contest.

Martinez then needed just five pitches to work a 1-2-3 top of the ninth inning. He retired Tyler Marincov on a first-pitch fly out to center, struck out Brown on three pitches and then quickly retired White on a groundout to shortstop to finish the game.

Meisner (0-2) suffered the loss for the Ports. The right-hander was charged with three runs (all unearned) on four hits over 5 2/3 innings. Meisner walked four and struck out three.
