Gherson To Join Grizzlies

The Chicago Wolves have assigned goaltender ROBERT GHERSON to the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies.

The 25-year-old netminder has posted a 5-3-0 record with a 3.09 goals-against average and .893 save percentage in 10 contests with Chicago this season, which includes allowing two or fewer goals in six of those outings. He backstopped 19 games with the Wolves last season, amassing an 8-6-0 record, with a 2.61 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage and shared the team lead with two shutouts. GHERSON also appeared in 16:37 of postseason action over two games during Chicago's run to the 2008 Calder Cup Championship.

Overall, the Toronto native has accrued a 34-20-2 record with a 2.70 goals-against average and .899 save percentage in 65 career American Hockey League games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (2005-06), Manitoba Moose (2005-06) and Wolves (2007 to present).

The Washington Capitals ninth choice, 145th overall, in the 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft, GHERSON has compiled a 17-22-2 record and a 3.64 goals-against average in 45 career ECHL outings with the Columbia Inferno from 2005 to 2007.
