Mobile BayBears News Release

Mobile, Ala. – Justin Germano put everything together Tuesday night as he threw a complete game allowing just one run on three hits to the Huntsville Stars in the BayBears 7-1 win in front of 2,090 fans at Hank Aaron Stadium. Germano's performance was the first nine-inning complete game for the BayBears this season.

Todd Donovan also played a big part in the Mobile win. The BayBears leadoff batter was 2-for-2 with two homeruns, two walks and a stolen base.

The Stars got on the scoreboard first as Corey Hart hit a solo homerun off of Germano in the top of the second inning. The only other threat by Huntsville came in the next inning. Stars starting pitcher Ben Hendrickson reached on an infield single and was bunted to second base. With two outs, Noochie Varner beat out an infield hit himself, but first baseman Joe Gerber threw Hendrickson out at the plate as he tried to score from second.

Germano (2-3) did not allow another base runner until the ninth inning as he retired 12 straight at one point.

Donovan put the BayBears on the board with his first homerun of the night, a solo shot in the bottom of the third. J.J. Furmaniak followed in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run homer, his second of the season.

Donovan's second tater came in the seventh. The solo bomb was his eighth of the year and his third in three games.

The BayBears added three more runs in the eighth. Humberto Quintero hit an RBI double followed by a two-run double by Danny Bravo.

The BayBears have Wednesday off before heading to Chattanooga to begin a four-game series with the Lookouts.
