BINGHAMTON, NY - Martin Gerber made 32 saves to carry the Binghamton Senators to a 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Phantoms at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Wednesday night. The win puts the Senators two points in front of the Phantoms in the East Division race and snaps Philadelphia's four-game winning streak.

Binghamton, which owns the AHL's best power play unit, burned the Phantoms with a power play goal with 3:58 left to go in the first period. Peter Regin fired a pass from the right circle over to Tomas Kudelka, who had pinched in from the left point. Kudelka easily deflected it past a lunging Scott Munroe to give the Senators a 1-0 lead at the first intermission.

The Senators expanded their lead with 4:48 to play in the second. Former Phantom Marc Cavosie fired a shot from the left circle that crawled over Munroe's left leg and in, making it 2-0 at the second intermission. Zack Smith iced the affair with an empty-netter late in the third.

Munroe absorbed the loss despite making 38 saves, and was named the third star for his efforts. Gerber took his second win with Binghamton and was named the game's first star.

The Phantoms start a six-game homestand on Friday night when they host the Manchester Monarchs at 7:05. It's Superhero Night at the Wachovia Spectrum, and the game will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet. Tickets are available at the Wachovia Complex box office, online at Phantomshockey.com or via ComcastTIX at 1-800-298-4200.
