Georgia Force News Release

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA- Today, the 2005 National Conference Champions began their second day of practice this morning at 9 a.m. at Flowery Branch.

The practice began with work on special teams, as Defensive Coordinator Bob Kronenberg led the team through a series of drills. With K Nelson Garner not reporting to camp until next week the team called upon OS Chris Jackson to kick field goals. At one point Jackson connected on four straight from about 22 yards out.

The team then conducted one-on-one drills for the next 20 minutes before moving onto the team portion of practice. All three quarterbacks displayed great touch and accuracy on all of their attempts. The wide receiver corps has been running crisp clean routes and catching everything thrown their way. The defensive backs have found themselves in the right position to make a play on every down. The offensive and defensive lines are making progress each and every practice.

OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR: STEVE THONN

Relationship between the Quarterbacks and Wide receivers: "The quarterbacks and wide receivers have done a great job of gelling together in a short period of time. They are becoming one unit very quickly. The coming together is due in large part to the veterans taking time and explaining everything to the younger players."

DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR: BOB KRONENBERG

Chris Jackson's kicking ability: "Chris Jackson has been our emergency kicker since last year. He is an all-around player. I would say that if he attempted nine extra points he would make six of them. Nick Ward is another guy on our team that can kick if it is necessary."

WR/DB COACH: MAURICE BLANDING

On the play of the young secondary: "The players that are returning have been sharing their knowledge with the young guys and it has translated to better play by the whole unit. We implemented our zone defensive scheme today and I was impressed by the way all the guys picked up on it so quickly."
