Georgia Force News Release

ATLANTA, GA. – The Georgia Force, of the Arena Football League, will officially begin their on-field preparations for the 2004 season on Saturday, January 17th at the Buchanan School in Norcross. The Buchanan School will serve as the Force's practice facility throughout training camp and the regular season. All practices are open to the public and to the media.

With 26 new players signing with the Force this offseason, including AFL standouts WR/LB Dialleo Burks, WR/LB Andy McCullough and WR/DB Dameon Porter, there will be a lot of competition in camp as Head Coach Marty Lowe and his staff make their decisions on the club's 37-man training camp roster. The league's mandatory cut down date to reach the regular season 24-man roster is February 2nd.

On Friday, January 23rd, the Force will be traveling to Charlotte to scrimmage the Carolina Cobras. The teams will meet at the Charlotte Coliseum in a combined effort to prepare for the season since the AFL has no preseason games.

Practice time for Saturday, January 17th, is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. All training camp and regular season practice dates and times are subject to change. It is advised to call the Force Media Relations Department in the morning of any intended day of attendance.

The Georgia Force will open their third season of play in the AFL when they kickoff the 2004 season on Sunday, February 8th at 3:00 p.m. against the New York Dragons in the Arena at Gwinnett Center. This season, the Force will look to build on their record eight wins and second round playoff appearance in 2003. A network-TV sport, the AFL will celebrate its 2nd season on NBC in 2004.
