
Generals win fifth on the road beat Bloomington 5-2

BLOOMINGTON, ILL - Chad Alban and the Flint Generals continued their domination of the Bloomington Prairie Thunder this season. The Generals won their fifth straight over the Prairie Thunder 5-2 on Friday night. It was also the Generals' fifth straight win on the road and they still have no losses in regulation.
Chad Alban has allowed just two goals the last six periods of hockey versus the Prairie Thunder. He had his shutout string snapped at just over 5½ period of hockey when Bloomington scored midway through the third period. Alban stopped 40 of 42 shots overall and was outstanding in posting the victory. It was his first since returning from injury It was the first of two for Bloomington in the final frame. Josef Fojtik capped off a great night with a goal in the third to go along with his two assits.
The Generals scored the game's first goal when Greg Bullock finished off a great passing play from Josef Fojtik. Flint capitalized on a 2 on 1 opportunity and the Prairie Thunder had most of their players inside the Generals end.
Michael Beausoleil made it 2-0 for the Generals when his shot squirted through the arm of Derek Dolson and just crossed the goal line. Goaltender Chad Alban made his return to the Generals' line-up and made some great saves to keep his team in front.
In the second period the Generals made it 3-0 and chased Thunder goaltender Derek Dolson who didn't play well. John DiPace scored his 7th of the season from Jason Cirone.
After Chad Alban made some big saves to keep his team nicely ahead, Mike Kinnie added more fuel to the fire when he completed a lovely pass from Jason Cirone and found the back of the net to make it 4-0 near the end of the second frame.
