Flint tops PrairieThunder, 5-2

Josef Fojtik scored one goal and added two assists for three points to lead the Flint Generals to a 5-2 International Hockey League victory over the Bloomington PrairieThunder before 3,118 people Friday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The Generals (11-4-0-4, 26 points) remained in second place in the league standings. The PrairieThunder suffered its fourth straight loss to drop to 8-11-2-0 and 18 points. Bloomington returns to action Saturday with a 6:30 p.m. game at Port Huron.
The Generals built a 4-0 lead over the first two periods on goals by Greg Bullock, Michel Beausoleil, John DiPace and Mike Kinnie. Fojtik had assists on the first two goals. Others getting assists were Jason Cirone with two, Nick Tuzzolino, Beausoleil and Kinnie.
Don Parsons finally got Bloomington onto the scoreboard with a power play goal with 11:07 remaining in the third period. Jon Booras and Sam Ftorek had the assists.
Fojtik's goal with 1:25 remaining in the game accounted for Flint's final score. The PrairieThunder got its second goal with 14 seconds remaining from Leo Thomas off assists from Jarrett Robertson and Casey Handrahan.
Flint goalie Chad Alban saved 40 of 42 shots to move his record to 6-1. Derek Dolson, who was pulled in the second period, suffered the loss and dropped his record to 6-7-1. He saved 5 of 8 shots before giving way to Loic Lacasse, who had 13 saves on 15 shots.
