KLAMATH FALLS, OR - The Gems today signed 1B Rich Sanguinetti, a 6'2", 185 left-handed hitter from Arlington, TX. Sanguinetti has signed to play at Nebraska and is currently a sophomore at Texarkana (TX) College. Through April 10, Sanguinetti is hitting .325 with four home runs and 23 RBI for Texarkana.
The Gems are members of the West Coast League, a nine-team professional style wood-bat summer college league. The WCL features pro prospects from major conferences across the country. More than 100 WCL alums are playing affiliated professional baseball this season, and 11 ex-WCL stars have played in the Major Leagues this season.
