Gems fall to Lumberjacks

The Gems traveled to L. C. Walker Arena in Muskegon tonight for the 2nd night of the Gems vs Lumberjacks back to back series. In the 1st period just before the seven minutes had passed Muskegon found the net. The Gems went on defense and held the Lumberjacks to only 1 goal. Both teams held their own in the 2nd period. With only 2 ½ minutes to go Dayton veteran John Snowden put the Gems on the board unassisted tying the game 1 - 1. The 3rd period was under 6 minutes old when Cody Hamilton made his 1st goal as a Dayton Gem with the help of Matt Auffrey. The Gems lead lasted only 24 seconds as the Lumberjacks found the net. With the game tied Muskegon would let only a little more than 3 minutes lapse before they took the lead finish the scoring for the evening. Gems fall 3 - 2 to the 1st place Lumberjacks. Gems standings are now 19 - 26 - 3 - 1.

Valentine's Day will be the day to bring your sweetheart to Hara for the game against Quad City at 5pm. The first 1st 700 ladies will receive carnations courtesy of Furst Florist. After the game join the Gems on the ice for a chance to Skate with the Team. That evening is also the Gems 1st "City vs City Night". The Gems welcome friends, families, businesses and local groups from Vandalia and Englewood to support their communities. Group seating is available and Northmont and Vandalia Butler schools are encouraged to participate.

Saturday, February 20th at Hara Arena as the Gems take on the Fort Wayne Komets at 730pm Dayton Spiritual Television will be hosting the evening sponsored by DATV (Time Warner Local Cable Access Station). Faith groups are encouraged to attend and group seating is available. Dayton Spiritual TV will be in the lobby handing out information and signing people up for prize drawings.
