Gems Complete Coaching Staff

January 4, 2011 - West Coast League (WCL)
Klamath Falls Gems News Release

Klamath Falls, OR - The Klamath Falls Gems announced the hiring of the team's second assistant coach, completing the 2011 coaching staff.

Jason Brown of Vancouver, Washington will join the Gems when they report to camp in early June. Brown is currently an assistant coach at Centralia (WA) Community College.

Brown played multiple positions at George Fox University (Newberg, OR) under current Oregon State University assistant head coach Pat Bailey. He graduated from George Fox in May 2010 with a B.S. in Athletic Training before joining the staff at Centralia CC.

"Among our goals as the Gems is to develop not only players but coaches and staff," Gems General Manager Chuck Heeman said. "Jason is exactly the kind of coach who we look for when we think about how we can help someone get to the next level. He's very versatile in his playing, coaching and athletic training experience, and that kind of versatility comes in very handy during the course of a season. He's a great addition to the staff and we're glad he chose to come to Klamath Falls to advance his career."

Brown joins Mitchell Feller on Head Coach Brian Embery's staff.
