Gems Announce Final Player Signings for 2013 Season

Klamath Falls, Oregon: Monday, May 6, 2013: The Klamath Falls Gems are excited to announce the signing of the remaining players that have signed contracts to play for the Gems in 2013.

The Gems have signed the following pitchers for the upcoming 2013 season: RHP Aaron Quillen a freshmen from the University of Tennessee, LHP John Salas a junior from Cal St Northridge, Brandon Horth a sophomore LHP from Loyola Marymount University, Angelo Lingos a freshman RHP from UC Riverside, Jackson Lockwood a freshman RHP from the University of Portland, Skye Adams a junior LHP from Central Washington University, incoming freshmen RHP Greg Harris from the University of Oregon, sophomore LHP Nick Sabo from Long Beach State, and incoming freshmen RHP Scott Burke from UCLA.

The Gems have signed the following infielders for the upcoming 2013 campaign: Desmond Santos a junior 2B/SS from the University of Oregon, Matt Carroll a junior 1B from San Jose St. University, sophomore 1B/OF Nick Fisher from Linfield College, junior SS/2B Cole Trezek from Loyola Marymount University, local product from OIT junior 1B Dylan Rogers, and 3B/2B freshmen LJ Brewster from the University of Hawaii.

UC Riverside junior outfielder Cody Hough has also signed to play for the Gems.

"We've put together a great combination of pitching, defense, and offense, and I'm looking forward to a successful season in Klamath Falls," said Gems Head Coach Mitch Karraker. "Mitch has done a great job, and it's exciting to see so many top schools sending players to the Gems," added Gems general manager Grant Wilson. "We feel we've put together a winning team."

The Klamath Falls Gems are members of the West Coast League, the Diamond Standard among summer college baseball. The eleven-team, professional style wood-bat league features pro prospects from major conferences across the country. More than 120 WCL alums played affiliated professional baseball last season, and 20 ex-WCL stars played in the Major Leagues last season.
