Garcia Questionable For Home Opener
March 5, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
New York Dragons News Release
In the Dragons season opener versus Cleveland Monday night, Garcia left the game following the first quarter with a sprained right knee and did not return in the game.
Garcia is now listed as questionable for the Dragons Home Opener this Sunday, March 9th at 3:00pm when they take on Kansas City. If Garcia is unable to play in the matchup, Rohan Davey will be starting. Head Coach Weylan Harding feels the team is prepared either way.
"Off of Rohan's performance when he was pressed into duty, we are very encouraged about what he did," said Harding. "We feel fully confident that he has the capabilities to be able to lead us to a win.
Davey recorded 21 completions on 31 attempts for 249 yards and five touchdowns with one interception in the season opener. He is also confident that he's ready to step up if he is needed as the starter Sunday.
"I'll definitely be ready on Sunday. If A.G. can't go, I'll be ready to step in and help the team, said Davey. "We're looking to get that first win of the year, so I'm definitely prepared to do that."
