Belleville Bulls News Release
PETERBOROUGH, ON - The Belleville Bulls and Peterborough Petes were able to hit the ice and shake off a little bit of rust in a competitive environment on Sunday afternoon in their first preseason action of the year. The maroon and white skated to a 6-5 victory on Brandon Devlin's late winner despite the Bulls carrying much of the play early in the game.
The comeback kids came up short at home on Monday as late goals by recently signed forward Steven Lorentz andNick Ritchie weren't enough to propel the Petes back from an early deficit in a 3-2 loss to the Oshawa Generals.
The Bulls and Petes lock horns again tonight at the Peterborough Memorial Centre in preseason action at 7:05pm. A few Bulls managed to take care of scoring their first goal in an OHL uniform early as Andrew Ming and David Tomasek both had first period markers on Sunday. Jake Bricknell, Adam Laishram and Justin Lemcke tallied their first assists.
Peterborough rookie Matthew Spencer wasted little time making an impact as he picked up a goal on Sunday. Peterborough newcomer Matej Paulovic also made a solid first impression with two goals in the Petes victory.
Belleville forwards Chad Heffernan and Griffin McCarty have both been sidelined with upper body injuries and aren't expected to suit up tonight while Alan Quine,Brendan Gaunce, Jordan Subban, Brady Austin and Scott Simmonds are off at NHL camps.
Tune into AM 800 CJBQ tonight for pre, post-game and intermission updates and be sure to follow along with the Bulls' Twitter account (@OHLBulls) for complete coverage!
