London, Ont. - The Saginaw Spirit will face the London Knights at the Budweiser Gardens for Game 5 of the Western Conference Final on Friday night. Saginaw trails London 3-1 after the Knights took Game 4 at the Dow Event Center Wednesday night.

The Saginaw Spirit and London Knights faced each other four times in the regular season, with the series splitting 2-2. Neither team won a game on the road against the other all season until Game 4, where London won 7-3 over Saginaw. The Knights lead 3-1 in the third-round series thus far.
Game 4 opened up with Sam Dickinson scoring just 28 seconds in, followed by Sam O'Reilly two minutes later. Shortly after O'Reilly's goal, Calem Mangone scored the first goal of the night for the Spirit, making the score 2-1 going into the second. The second period was filled with goals that went back and forth. Landon Sim scored one but was soon followed by Jorian Donovan. Oliver Bonk then scored midway though the second, but Owen Beck scored three minutes later to make the game 4-3. Goals coming from Sam O'Reilly, Easton Cowan and Isaiah George gave the London Knights a 7-3 victory over the Saginaw Spirit. Goaltender Michael Simpson saved 34 of 37 shots for London while Nolan Lalonde grabbed 21 of 26 shots for Saginaw.
Players to Watch:
Calem Mangone, Owen Beck and Rodwin Dionicio are all in a three way tie for most points on the Saginaw squad with 13. Mangone leads the team in goals (7) with six additional assists. Beck has scored 4 goals, three being power play goals, and has received nine total assists, tying 2023-24 Max Kaminsky Trophy recipient Zayne Parekh for most on the team. Dionicio is first among all OHL Defensemen this postseason with five goals and eight assists.
Toronto prospect Easton Cowan was recently awarded the 2023-24 Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL's Most Outstanding Player. Cowan amassed 34 goals and 62 assists for 96 points during the regular season, and has four goals and ten assists for 14 points in the playoffs. Cowan is placed second on the team in points behind Kasper Halttunen. Halttunen is tied for third in OHL in goals along with six assists for 15 points. Michael Simpson holds a 2.52 GAA, .910 SV%, 11 wins (tied for first in the OHL), and two shutouts (tied for first in the OHL).
