Syracuse Silver Knights News Release
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The fourth-place Syracuse Silver Knights (9-7) will begin the final stretch of the season, when they will take on the Thruway Rivals, the Rochester Lancers (5-11) at the Blue Cross Arena.
Saturday's meeting holds extra importance as the Knights are one win away from clinching a playoff spot, the franchise's first in their history. It would also mark the highest amount of total wins in franchise history with 10. In order for the Lancers to overtake their rivals they would need to win the rest of their games and the Knights to lose out, while maintaining a +27 point advantage in the Thruway Rivalry. A Syracuse win in one of the last four games would send Coach Tommy Tanner's squad to the postseason.
After Syracuse secures a MISL Playoff spot the Silver Knights will host a Semi-Final and a Championship game with a Semi-Final series win. The Silver Knights would play a home game on Friday, March 7th at the Oncenter War Memorial Arena followed by a road game between March 10th-12th depending on their opponent. Championship Games will be played March 13th-16th with the higher seeded team having the first selection of the date for the game they will host. Both rounds are "Best of 3" with the 3rd game being a mini game played for 15 minutes immediately after game 2 has concluded.
Season ticket holders have the first right to choose their current seats up to February 21st but need to purchase both rounds of the Playoffs. After February 21st all unpaid season ticket holder seats will be released. Seating priority will be made when orders and payments are received based on purchaser's request and seat availability at that time. Fans will receive credit towards their 2014-15 Season Tickets for any Playoff tickets purchased for games not played.
