Syracuse Silver Knights News Release
SYRACUSE, NY - The Syracuse Silver Knights will take on the visiting Wichita Wings on Saturday, February 25 at the War Memorial at Oncenter. The 7:00 PM game is the second and final time the teams meet this season and the first time Wichita has traveled to Central New York.
The last time the two met was at Hartman arena in Wichita. The Silver Knights suffered a hard 20-4 loss with Wings striker Frederico Moojen scoring four goals on the Knights. Cory Elenio was the most productive member of the Silver Knights squad, putting up a goal and an assist.
Elenio figures to star again against the Wings on Saturday. The Michigan native has scored a hat trick in each of the last two games, including a three-pointer Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Wave. He has 16 goals and 12 assists on the season and is tied for the league's 16th leading scorer.
The Silver Knights will also rely on Bryan O'Quinn's strong presence in goal. O'Quinn has saved 117 of 155 shots in six games played this season, good for a 75.5 save percentage and third in the position league-wide.
Come out to pregame food and drinks in Armory Square at 4:00 PM with the March To The Match beginning at 6:30. Members of Syracuse local media, including NewsChannel 9 sports reporter Sal Maneen and CNY Central chief meteorologist Wayne Mahar, will be participating in the match, playing in the 1st Annual Charity Media Halftime Soccer Game.
