
Game Preview: Mallards at Express

The Madison Mallards travel to Eau Claire today to begin a pivotal three-game set at Carson Park against the Express. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05p.m.
Starting for the Mallards will be Rusty Shellhorn (Texas Tech). Shellhorn is 3-0 with a 1.55 ERA on the season, and will be making his second start against Eau Claire today. He pitched six innings allowing no runs on four hits and struck out eight in the Mallards' 8-4 win back on June 14th at the "Duck Pond."
Eau Claire will counter with Ryan Longstreth (Central Michigan). He is 3-0 on the season and has an ERA of 2.70. Longstreth has yet to face Madison this season.
The Mallards head into Monday's action one game ahead of Eau Claire, Green Bay, and Battle Creek in the South Division standings of the Northwoods League with three games left to play in the first half. Green Bay will play at Wisconsin Rapids starting at 3:05 p.m., and Battle Creek will play at Wisconsin beginning at 6:35 p.m.
