November 9, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Oshawa Generals News Release
The Oshawa Generals go up against the Ottawa 67's tonight at the Tribute Communities Centre. The Gens record heading into the game sits at 9-6-2-0 after a big 4-0 win against the Barrie Colts at home on Sunday. Oshawa will look to build off the shutout performance and take down the 67's at home tonight.
Tonight's matchup marks the first time the two divisional teams will meet this season. Heading into the game, Oshawa holds sixth place in the eastern conference but sits only two points out of second place due to a tight race among teams in the east. Meanwhile, Ottawa is at the top of the conference and the league, boasting a 16-3-1-0 record in their first 20 games. The Gens will look to take down the league leaders tonight at home for their tenth win of the season.
A few Gens to look out for in tonight's contest include Nando Eggenberger, Danil Antropov, and Giovanni Vallati. Eggenberger has been on an offensive tear as of late, sporting a 3-game goal streak and 4-game point streak. His tally on Sunday night against the Barrie Colts put his total up to 7 goals on the season to go along with 7 assists for 14 points. Eggenberger will aim to keep his streak alive tonight and continue to contribute up front for the Gens. Meanwhile, Antropov is coming off a strong game against the Colts that saw him pot a goal for his fourteenth point of the season. Antropov will look to keep adding to his offensive totals tonight. Another big performance from Sunday's game came from Giovanni Vallati. The defenseman scored his second goal of the season and added an assist for a 2-point night. Vallati now sits tied with Matt Brassard for the team lead in points by a defenseman, with each player at 11 points. The Gens will look for Vallati to keep up his solid play tonight and continue to contribute some points from the blue line.
Come join us at the Tribute Communities Centre for tonight's game at 7:35pm and cheer on the Gens as they go head to head with the Ottawa 67's! After tonight's game, the team will travel on the road to battle the Frontenacs in Kingston tomorrow to close out the weekend.
