Game Preview: Gens Face Frontenacs Today at 3:30pm at Home

December 1, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Oshawa Generals News Release

The Generals head back to Oshawa to open their back to back at home this afternoon against the Kingston Frontencs at the Tribute Communities Centre. The Gens head into the game with a 16-8-2-0 record after taking down the Guelph Storm on the road yesterday and picking up their sixth win in the past seven games. The team will look to keep up the winning trend today as they face off against the Frontenacs at home.

Today's matchup marks the fourth time Oshawa will meet with the Fronts this season. The Gens have had a couple of tough games against Kingston, holding a 1-2 record in their previous three contests. With a win today, the Gens can tie up the season series with their east division rivals.

With their recent streak of wins, the Gens hold a three-team tie for the second most points in the eastern conference, with the Sudbury Wolves and the Niagara IceDogs also sitting at 34 points. Meanwhile, the Kingston Frontenacs are at the bottom of the east, holding a record of 8-19-1-0. The Gens will look to overcome the east division foes today and grab 2 points in the tight eastern conference.

A player to keep an eye on in tonight's matchup is Gens forward Allan McShane. With 5 goals in his last 7 contests, the forward is on a hot streak right now as he continues to find the net. McShane added to his goal total in last night's tilt against the Storm, potting the game-winning goal in the third period to secure a 4-3 win for the Gens. Now sitting at 8 goals and 15 points in 20 games, look for McShane to add to his numbers tonight and be a contributor up front for Oshawa.

Head out to the Tribute Communities Centre for today's game for tons of fun. The Home Depot will be hosting a mystery puck challenge where you can purchase an autographed puck for $5, with all money being donated to the Orange Door Project. One puck will be signed in gold, and if you buy that one you win a $100 gift card to The Home Depot!
