San Antonio FC News Release
At a glance...
Attack Together: San Antonio's 47 goals are the most in the league. The attack has been a group effort, with 15 different players having scored, and 16 different players that have assisted for SAFC this season.
Copa Tejas Time: San Antonio and RGV enter tied on points (4) for the USL Championship Copa Tejas race. RGV holds the goal differential edge, with two matches left to play between the two sides. Neither side can clinch the trophy with a win on Wednesday - the two sides splitting wins in the remaining two matches would send it to tiebreakers.
Strike First, Strike Hard: Since the start of 2022, the club is 33-0-3 when scoring first and 27-0-5 when scoring multiple goals. Dating back to 2021, SAFC is unbeaten in the last 57 matches (48-0-9) when scoring first. When scoring first, SAFC has a +88 goal differential and 30 clean sheets since the start of 2021. The last time SAFC lost after scoring the opening goal was October 4, 2020 - a 1-2 loss at Austin Bold FC.

What they had to say:
Head coach Alen Marcina
(On returning home after two road matches...)
"We love playing at home, in front of the best fans in the league. It's going to be an exciting game - us and RGV is always a battle. It's another Copa Tejas matchup, and that's important to us. It's important in the standings, a win puts us in first place with the same amount of games as Sacramento. So it's important for a number of different reasons tomorrow night."
(On the match's national audience on ESPN2...)
"I think it's a great opportunity ... to show the national audience how we pack Toyota Field, that we have the best fans in the league - the most passionate fans in the league. And then also it's an opportunity to demonstrate our team identity, and then as individuals within that team to showcase their skillset. So all in all, a great opportunity for us."
