Midweek Madness
Happy Tuesday, Hawks fans!
We're back on home ice after stretching our point streak to four games over the weekend, knocking off Spokane and picking up a point against Tri-City. Tonight features a rematch against the Chiefs to wrap up the season series, during which Portland has gone 5-2-0-0 this season. Marcus Nguyen enters the week on a four-game point streak (3G, 1A), while Robbie Fromm-Delorme (3G) and Jack O'Brien (4A) have been putting up points in bunches as of late. Between the pipes, Jan Špunar has won each of his last two starts and picked up points in three in a row, and Dante Giannuzzi stopped 31 pucks to keep the Hawks in the contest on Saturday in Kennewick.
Trading Card Giveaway
Another weekday game means more Winterhawks trading cards for the first 500 fans in the building! Thanks to our friends at The Barbers, fans can pick up the fifth set (out of six) at tonight's game. Tonight's set features Kyle Chyzowski, Braeden Jockims, Chaz Lucius, Josh Mori and James Stefan - arrive early to make sure you get yours!
Ticket Punched
Following a Prince George OT loss on Sunday night, the Winterhawks woke up on Monday having sealed up the #3 seed in the Western Conference and announced the dates of their first two home playoff games, set for Friday, March 31, and Saturday, April 1. Tickets are currently on sale for both of those games - click the hyperlink above for more.
With their spot solidified and no potential for movement in the standings, the Winterhawks can spend the final two weeks of the regular season honing the championship habits they've been building all year. They'll have some stiff competition to warm up against too - after tonight's contest against Spokane, the Hawks face top-ranked Seattle four times in the next two weekends and another playoff team in Vancouver next Tuesday. They may not be scoreboard-watching anymore, but there's plenty to play for as the Hawks head down the stretch.
