
Gamblers make roster moves

(Green Bay, Wisconsin) â The Green Bay Gamblers acquired Waterloo forward Dan Sturges and Lincoln Stars defenseman Chris Stansik in a pair of trades.
To make room for Sturges and Stansik on the 23-man roster the Gamblers released forwards Andy Roberts and Jason Wiley and defensemen Jared Baldwin and Mike Kennedy.
Sturges, 19 (5/30/85) has spent the last two seasons with the Black Hawks racking up six points (3 goals & 3 assists) in 52 games. The Verona, Wisconsin, nearly matched his scoring output in the 2004 Clark Cup playoffs registering three points (1g 2a) in nine games to help lead the Black Hawks to their first Clark Cup in team history.
Stansik, 18 (2/7/86) played last season with the Michigan Ice Dogs AAA. The Livonia, Michigan native did appear in all three games with the Stars in the Buc Bowl, registering two minutes in penalties and â1 plus/minus rating.
The Gamblers open up the 2004-05 season this Saturday at the Resch Center against the Omaha Lancers. Face off is 7:10 PM.
