
Galaxy Resumes Training at Rose Bowl March 10

PASADENA, CA (Friday, March 07, 2003) - The 2002 MLS Cup Champion Los Angeles Galaxy will resume training at the Rose Bowl on Monday, March 10 at 9:30 a.m. in preparation for their first round home-and-home series of the 2003 CONCACAF Champions' Cup tournament, following completing the longest preseason trip in club history (21 days). The Galaxy will play CD Motagua of Honduras on March 16 at Estadio Nacional in Tegucigalpa and then returns home to host the second leg on March 23 at 6 p.m. at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Stadium.
In preparation for the Champions' Cup, the Galaxy will play a closed-door scrimmage against the United Nations Soccer League All-Star Team and the California Soccer League All-Star Team on Tuesday, March 11 at 3 p.m. in the Rose Bowl. The Galaxy will play a half against each squad. United Nations and California Soccer league All-Star Teams are made of top local Hispanic players from the Los Angeles area. Media is invited to attend.

Tickets prices for Galaxy-Motagua match are as follows: Reserved $20, General Admission $15, and General Admission Youth (16 and under) $12. Fans can purchase a Champions Cup Reserved Four-Pack in advance of the match for just $72 (a savings $8). The L.A. Galaxy, who won the 2000 CONCACAF Champions' Cup, are paired to play against nine-time league champion Motagua of the Honduran First Division. The Galaxy was drawn into series eight, meaning the winner of the Galaxy-Motagua series will take on the winner of series seven between Arnett Gardens FC (Jamaica) vs. CID Necaxa (Mexico).
The 2003 Champions' Cup quarterfinal matches are already underway, while the semifinals will be held tentatively on April 30 and May 14. The finals will be played over two legs and are scheduled for August/September.
