CARSON, CA (Tuesday, September 05, 2006) - The Los Angeles Galaxy and Brazilian Night Productions present Brazil Day on Sunday, September 10 beginning at 2 pm before the Galaxy's match against the Houston Dynamo at 5 pm in The Home Depot Center. In honor of Brazilian Independence (Sept. 7), the Galaxy will be celebrating Brazil's rich history and tradition with music, dancers and Jujitsu.
"The Brazilian culture has long been synonymous with the game of soccer," said L.A. Galaxy President and General Manager Alexi Lalas. "The rhythm, the music, the passion, the color and the joy that the Brazilian community exhibits for the game and their heritage is something that we can all celebrate."
Brazil Day festivities include a Brazilian themed vendor village, Oya Samba school dancers, a drum circle by REMO Percussion Company, Jujitsu and Capoeira demonstrations, and will feature LIVE concert performances by Baby do Brasil (formally known as Baby Consuelo) and Brasil-Brazil Show.

Famous songs in her repertoire include "Menino do Rio", composed especially for her by Caetano Veloso and "Todo Dia Era Dia de Ãndio" (Jorge Ben) belongs to the "Classics of MPB". In the 90s, she changed her name to Baby do Brasil (Baby from Brazil).
Brasil-Brazil Show, a local band, will also perform and are known for an invigorating, magical experience comprised of internationally renowned performers, featuring Ana Gazzola and Sonia Santos. Fans can expect the fervor, enthusiasm and excitement of popular Brazilian music with a variety of styles, rhythms and faces of this colorful and tropical culture. The band is outfitted in bright yellow and green costumes and the production has the joyful feel of Carnaval.
