Galaxy, Home Depot Foundation to serve warm Thanksgiving meal to underserved

Carson, CA (Wednesday, November 15, 2006) - The Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation will join forces with The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation and several corporate sponsors to serve a holiday meal the week of Thanksgiving to more than 200 children and families from a variety of community-based groups from throughout Southern California.

The foundations will play host to their fourth annual "Foundations' Feast" on Monday, November 20 at 4:30 pm (PT) at The Home Depot Center's American Express Stadium Club. Several L.A. Galaxy players and front office members, as well as The Home Depot Center will be on hand to help serve meals. Players will also be signing autographs and taking photos with the children.

"We are very pleased to continue our annual tradition of hosting the Foundations' Feast at The Home Depot Center," said L.A. Galaxy President and General Manager Alexi Lalas. "We look forward to once again opening our house to those in the community who are less fortunate for a warm, home-cooked meal."

Of course, no Thanksgiving meal is the same without turkey, and there will be plenty for all those in attendance. For those who prefer ham, Galaxy sponsor Farmer John will be providing 40 of them to make the feast more complete. Guests will also be served an assortment of cold beverages, courtesy of Coca-Cola, who will offer an extensive selection of soft drinks and bottled water. Two Chefs on a Roll, a local Carson business, will provide desert for the evening. Additionally, all children in attendance will receive a goodie bag including treats from See's Candies.

Galaxy, local businesses and sponsors to share a Thanksgiving meal with our community," said The Home Depot Center General Manager Rod O'Connor. "As we head into the holidays each year, this event is one our staff looks forward to, and we are proud to be a part of it."

Levy Restaurants, who operates all concessions at The Home Depot Center, will also lend their support to the event, cooking all the turkeys and hams as well as preparing several traditional Thanksgiving side dishes, including mashed potatoes and gravy, seasonal vegetables and cranberry sauce.
