Remote control cars, mp3 players, autographed footballs, pizza and more. Christmas is just a little merrier this year thanks to the Fort Wayne Fusion. About 16 boys and girls in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters First Friends program took part in the team's first annual Tree Decorating party at the team's headquarters at 702A West Coliseum Blvd.

"We are as aggressive about contributing to this community as we are to fielding a championship football team," Owner and General manager Jeremy Golden said. "No one will out work us in the community or on the turf. That's just what we do."

The young people are part of the local BB/BS chapter's First Friends program. The kids were busy personalizing their own Christmas stockings, decorating the Fusion's Christmas tree and spending time with Santa Claus as well as Fusion coaches and staff.

"The best part of the night was just seeing their smiles and sharing hugs. Even tough football guys like our coaches were fighting back tears around these special people," Golden said.

A reminder, season tickets are now on sale with packages beginning at $65 for upper level seats. For more information contact the Fusion office at 484-4095. The 2007 season opens with the Fusion hosting the defending American Conference champion Green Bay Blizzard March 31 at Memorial Coliseum.
