Fury's Jermaine Jones Named MASL Team of the Week Substitute

April 11, 2019 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Ontario Fury News Release

Ontario, Calif. - Ontario Fury midfielder Jermaine Jones has been named to the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) Team of the Week substitutes list for week 19 of the 2018-19 campaign. The former U.S. National Team and FIFA World Cup star was recognized for his standout offensive display in the 10-6 home defeat to the San Diego Sockers on April 4, in which he recorded a hat trick. It's the second consecutive honor for Jones, who was named a starter last week, following his four goals and one assist in the March 24 home win over the El Paso Coyotes.

The current MASL Team of the Week starting six is made up of goalkeeper Mike Zierhoffer, defender Mohamed Ndiaye (both Baltimore), midfielder Moises Gonzalez (RGV), and forwards Leonardo de Oliveira, Kraig Chiles (both San Diego) and Nick Perera (Tacoma).

German-American Jones has enjoyed impressive success since coming out of retirement in mid-March, having bagged a total of nine goals and two assists in just four games for a 2.8 points-per-game average that is good for a three-way tie for third-best in the league. He will look to cause more havoc on the attacking end when the Fury hosts its Fan Appreciation Night and regular season finale against the Monterrey Flash this coming Sunday, April 14. Tickets to all Ontario Fury games at Citizens Business Bank Arena may be purchased by visiting www.ontariofury.com or by calling 909-457-0252.
