Fury's Bouchard, Riedel Earn Weekly Honors

MUSKEGON - By leading their team to a 2-0-0-1 record over the weekend, Muskegon Fury forwards Robin Bouchard and Dan Riedel both earned IHL Weekly honors, the league announced today. Bouchard was named the IHL's National City Forward of the Week, while Riedel earned the league's Aquafina Rookie of the Week honors.

Bouchard notched his 1,200th career point Friday in a 4-3 Fury win over the Flint Generals. He had two assists and the game-winning goal in that contest. Saturday against Kalamazoo, Bouchard scored twice, including the game-winner, as the Fury topped the K-Wings 4-1. Sunday against Port Huron, he added two assists as the Fury lost in a shootout, 4-3. For the week, Bouchard had seven points (3G, 4A) and a +7 plus/minus rating. He has four consecutive games with multiple points, totaling 10 points (5G, 5A) in that span.

Riedel had five points over the weekend for the Fury. Friday, he scored a goal in the Fury's 4-3 win over Flint. Saturday against Kalamazoo, Riedel assisted on Bouchard's game-winning goal in the second period, then added an unassisted goal later in the period, his 20th goal of the season. Sunday, he struck for two goals in the first period of play and added a shootout goal in the Fury's 4-3 shootout loss against Port Huron. He is currently riding a six-game point streak, with nine points (6G, 3A) during that span.

Bouchard is the third Fury forward to win the Forward of the Week honor, joining teammates Mark Cadotte and Billy Collins, while Riedel is the first Fury player to win the Rookie of the Week honor this season.
