
IHL Weekly Honors For Week 22

ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Monday that Muskegon right wing Robin Bouchard has been named the National City IHL Forward of the Week, Flint defenseman Shaun Fisher has been named the Pepsi IHL Defenseman of the Week, Muskegon left wing Dan Riedel has been named the Aquafina IHL Rookie of the Week and Port Huron goaltender Marty Magers has been named the Southern Sports Supply IHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 10th, 2008.
Bouchard completed the week posting a total of seven points (3g, 4a) and a plus/minus rating of plus-seven in three games played last week. He passed the 1,200 career point mark Friday with his second assist of the night in the 4-3 win over Flint. Bouchard also scored the game-winning goal Friday and in Saturday's 4-1 victory over Kalamazoo. The Jonquiere, Quebec native is currently riding a four game point streak, registering 10 points in that span (5g, 5a).
Other players nominated for the National City IHL Forward of the Week include: Bloomington's Blake Stewart, Flint forward John DiPace, Fort Wayne left wing P.C. Drouin, Kalamazoo right wing Tyler Willis and Port Huron forward Tab Lardner.
Fisher wrapped Week 22 of the IHL season with a total of three points, all coming on assists. He has scored points in three of the Generals last four games (five points). He is currently fourth among IHL defenseman in scoring with 32 points (3g, 29a). Fisher's 32 points makes him the second most productive scoring defenseman for the Generals behind teammate Nick Tuzzolino. This is the third weekly honor for the Detroit, Michigan native, who also won Defenseman of the Month for January.
Other defenseman nominated for the Pepsi IHL Defenseman of the Week include: Bloomington's Sam Miller, Fort Wayne's Kevin Hansen, Kalamazoo's Jamie Vanderveeken, Muskegon's Dave Van Drunen and Port Huron's Jamie Lovell.
Riedel finished the week collecting five points in three games and had a plus/minus rating of plus-seven. He assisted on the game-winning goal Saturday versus Kalamazoo and scored the first two goals for the in the Fury's 4-3 shootout loss to Port Huron Sunday. Riedel has put up points in 10 of Muskegon's last 12 games. The 21-year-old Ann Arbor native is riding a six game point streak into next week, totaling nine points (6g, 3a).
Other players nominated for the Aquafina Rookie of the Week include: Bloomington goaltender Loic Lacasse, Flint forward Justin DePretis, Fort Wayne right wing Luciano Aquino, Kalamazoo defenseman Jamie Vanderveeken and Port Huron goaltender Marty Magers.
Magers was solid between the pipes for the Icehawks, posting 2-0-0-0 record, only allowing three goals in 130:00 minutes. Both games were played in Bloomington, where they also went to back-to-back shootouts. Magers held the PrairieThunder scoreless in overtime, as well as not allowing a goal in the shootout, to earn the victories. He has won three of his last five starts for the Icehawks. The 24-year-old Chicago, Illinois native had a .939 save percentage and a 1.38 goals against average last week, making a total of 46 saves.
Other goaltenders nominated for the Southern Sports Supply IHL Goaltender of the Week include: Bloomington's Loic Lacasse, Flint's Eric Marvin, Fort Wayne's Nick Boucher, Kalamazoo's Jeff Reynaert and Muskegon's Clayton Pool.
