Columbus Fury News Release
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Fury (0-1) are finally back in action this week, three weeks after their season opener at Grand Rapids. The team has used the past three weeks to prepare for Orlando (1-2) who is coming off a five-set loss at Atlanta.
Fury Players to Watch
Megan Courtney Lush will make her season debut after an illness kept her out of the opener. Lush bring seven years of professional experience from abroad, including experience with the U.S. National Team. Her leadership on and off the court has been huge for the young Fury players and her return to play should provide a solid boost for the team.
Kaitlyn Hord had a solid performance in the team's first match, tallying eight kills on 14 swings. Her .429 hitting percentage led all players with at least 10 attempts in the match. She tallied just one block for the match, but if her defensive presence at the net can match her offense she will be tough to stop.
Notes on the Valkyries
Orlando is coming off a 1-1 week, winning in four sets at home over the Vegas Thrill before dropping a five-set loss on the road at Atlanta.
Adora Anae earned the third Player of the Week honor of the season after leading her team in points in both matches. She totaled 18 points in the win over Las Vegas and 30 points in the loss to the Vibe.
The Valkyries also had a large gap in the schedule after their first match of the season. After 13 days between their first two matches, the Valkyries are now playing their third match in the last week.
