Dallas Fury News Release

The Tennessee Fury did what it was unable to do in the last meeting against Birmingham, and that was getting a win. The Fury came into Thursday's game against the Power with wins in their last two games. Now the Fury has made that three in a row with the 92-86 victory.

Marie Ferdinand led the Fury. She dropped in 26 in the winning effort. It is her highest output of the season.

In the early going of this one it was Birmingham that got out to a quick start. They led by as many as nine points early. Both teams exchanged baskets in a fast pace run and gun game in the first half. Tennessee would regroup however to hold the lead at the half, 45-43.

After the break it was the Fury's turn to open things up. They would open up a lead of 15 points mostly behind the scoring of Marie Ferdinand who scored 13 of 26 in the second half and Becky Hammon who would put in 19 for the contest.

With the score 75-60 Fury the Power would make one final push to make the game interesting. Taquilla Allen would score 8 points in a row for the Power to push them within 3 points of the Fury at 79-76. She would finish with 20 for the game.

Then the Miller sisters, Coco and Kelley would hit some big three's down the stretch but it wouldn't be enough.

Coco and Kelly would combine for 45 points on the game in the losing effort. Up next for the Fury is a home date with the Chicago Blaze on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Maryville College. The Fury will go for their fourth win in a row.

The last meeting with Chicago resulted in the first win of the year for the Fury in a 76-73 victory.

Sunday's game will be "Community Appreciation Day." Tickets can be purchased at Tickets Unlimited at 865.656.4444. They can also be purchased at the door for $8. Seating is General Admission.
