Fury Fall to Las Vegas, 11-8

The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, lost to the Las Vegas Legends in a testy 11-8 battle on Saturday night in front of an announced crowd of 2,024.

The Legends were led by midfielder Luis Suarez, who recorded a hat trick, and Eric Guzman, who led the team with four points (1 goal, 3 assists). They have now won five straight.

The Fury were unable to hold a two-goal lead after going up 3-1 in the first quarter. The Legends were able to get a goal later in the quarter to be down only 3-2 going into the second quarter.

It was all Las Vegas in the second quarter with Suarez recording his three goals to take a 5-3 lead into halftime.

Each time scored three goals apiece in the third quarter and the score was 8-6 heading into the final quarter. Timely goals by Luis Piffer and Tiguinho were not enough and the Legends prevailed.

The Fury had two-point efforts from six players with Tino Nunez and Tiguinho leading the way with two goals each.

Miguel Sanchez received a red card from the officials and will not be able to participate in the next game.

The game was an important one as the Fury were tied with San Diego for first place in the Pacific Division. San Diego won tonight and are back up to a one game lead. Las Vegas moved into a tie for second with the Fury with the win.

The Fury are back in action Friday (Jan. 9) with a game against the Harrisburg Heat at 7:05 p.m. It will be the final non-divisional game of the regular season for the Fury.
