Indy Fuel News Release

The Indy Fuel - proud affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs - announced today that the team has signed Derek Roehl to a standard players contract.

A native of Clinton Township, Michigan, Roehl played both junior hockey and college hockey in North America. After his senior season in 2011-12 at Western Michigan the 5-11, 183 lb. center played in one playoff game for the (then-CHL) Fort Wayne Komets. Following that year Roehl departed for three-plus seasons overseas with stops in France with Villard-de-Lans, the United Kingdom with Fife and Braehead and Italy with Valpellice where this season he appeared in three games with one goal before deciding to return stateside.

Roehl's best season came in the EIHL in 2013-14 with Fife when he scored 26 goals and totaled 47 points to go along with 151 minutes in penalites.

Indy will play back-to-back games in Evansville this Friday and Saturday night at 8:15 pm ET before returning home for a Sunday matinee against the Toledo Walleye at 3:05 pm to finish the pre-Christmas portion of the schedule. Radio coverage is available starting 15 minutes prior to puck drop on CBS Sports 1430 AM.

Single-game tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster or at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office, while a variety of different ticket plans and group specials are available by calling (317) 925-FUEL or visiting IndyFuelHockey.com.
