Frostbite Winning Streak Ends at Six

DANBURY, CT - The Adirondack Frostbite had their season-high six-game winning streak halted on Sunday afternoon, as the Danbury Trashers came away with a 7-2 victory at the Danbury Ice Arena

The Frostbite out-shot the Trashers 20-6 in the opening period, and took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission courtesy of a goal in the period's final minute. Bob Rapoza took a shot from the left point that was deflected in front by Sylvain Cloutier, who picked up his 14th goal of the season.

Adirondack doubled its lead just 1:08 into the second period scoring a power-play goal. Greg Koehler had the puck behind the Trasher net and centered a pass in front for Ryan Bennett who beat Sylvain Daigle high over the left shoulder for his third goal of the season.

It was all Danbury for the rest of the second period, as the Trashers scored five times, including three power-play goals and a shorthanded tally, to take a 5-2 lead after 40 minutes.

The Trashers added a pair of goals in the third period to set the final.

The Frostbite return to action on Friday, once again traveling to Danbury to take on the Trashers. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m., with coverage starting on WCKM 98.5 with the pre-game show at 7:10.
