Frostbite fall to Fury 4-1

MUSKEGON, MI - The Adirondack Frostbite dropped their second straight game on Tuesday night, as they fell to the Muskegon Fury 4-1 in front of 2,131 fans at Walker Arena. With the loss, Danbury clinches the Eastern Division championship. The Frostbite will be the fifth seed in the Colonial Cup Playoffs, and will face either Muskegon or Kalamazoo in the first round.

For the second straight game, the Frostbite found themselves trailing 3-0 after twenty of minutes. The Fury opened the scoring 4:53 into the contest, getting a power-play goal off of the stick of David Wrigley.

Muskegon doubled its lead just 1:30 later as Ryan Keller took a centering feed from Jeff Nelson, and one-timed a shot past Jason Saal from the left-wing circle.

The Fury power play struck again at 16:69 as Todd Robinson wristed a shot past Saal for his 19th goal of the season.

The Frostbite got on the scoreboard with a power-play goal of their own 11:04 into the second period. Hugo Belanger fed a pass for Ryan Bennett in the left-wing circle, and Bennett beat Clayton Pool with a quick wrist shot for his 23rd goal of the season, surpassing his total from last season.

Muskegon restored its three-goal advantage just 53 seconds into the third period. Wrigley found Robinson in the slot, and he was able to get off a quick shot that just made it inside the far post for his second goal of the night.

Adirondack is back in action on Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. face-off in Kalamazoo. Catch all of the action on WCKM 98.5, starting with the pre-game show at 6:40.
