Vermont Frost Heaves News Release

Barre, VT - The Vermont Frost Heaves fell to the Rochester Razorsharks, 113-103 at the Aud in Barre. In one of the most physical games the Frost Heaves have ever played, Rochester's offensive rebounding and 3 point shooting was the key to the game as they outrebounded Vermont 53 to 39.

The Sharks were clearly out for payback after Vermont defeated Rochester back in January in Rochester and the intensity of both teams showed. Rochester held a slim 25-23 lead after one quarter and the Frost Heaves went down by as much as 8 in the 2nd quarter. The half ended with Rochester holding a 53-45 lead.

In the 3rd quarter, the Frost Heaves tied the game at 63, but Rochester went on a 10 point run and never really looked back. Rochester was lead by Keith Friel with 33 points on 7-15 shooting from 3-point land and overall 10-18. Jerice Crouch and Sammy Monroe each had 17 points and Marlin Johnson had 13 rebounds.

Benson Callier lead the Vermont in scoring with 21 points followed by John Williams with 19 and Joe Nixon with 16. Vermont's challenge does not get any easier as they head for Manchester to face the Millrats tomorrow in Manchester. Game time is 2:30 and will be webcast live from the Millrats website at www.manchestermillrats.com.

Vermont's next home game is next Sunday February 22, 2009 in Burlington as they take on the Quebec Kebekwa at 6:05 p.m. Tickets for all Frost Heaves games are available at the Flynn Box Office in person, by calling 802-86-FLYNN or online at flynntix.org.
