Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release

Kingston, ON- Nathan Moon's two goal performance lead the Kingston Frontenacs to a 3-1 victory over the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors tonight at the K-Rock Centre. The loss drops the Majors to 20-6-2-0 on the season.

After a scoreless opening twenty minutes; Nathan Moon put the Frontenacs in the lead with his shorthanded marker just 51 seconds into the second. The Majors were on the powerplay when a pass to the point was redirected to Moon, who got past the Majors defence and calmly put the puck past JP Anderson. The Majors responded just over a minute later when Blake Parlett tied the game off a beautiful pass from Devante Smith Pelly. Parlett was rushing in from the point and accepted a cross-ice feed from Smith-Pelly and finished with a backhanded past Kingston netminder John Cullen. That would be all the scoring as the period drew to a close deadlocked at 1-1.

Moon struck again for his second of the game and gave the Frotenacs a 2-1 lead. Zach Harnden added an empty netter to seal it for Kingston and record his second point after assisting on Moon's second.

John Cullen made 45 saves for Kingston and records the win, while Majors goaltender JP Anderson takes the loss, making 25 saves. Cullen and Moon received the first two "Game Stars" while Blake Parlett takes the third star. The Majors will now head to Ottawa for an afternoon contest with the 67's at 2:00 p.m on Sunday. With the Barrie Colts winning last night and again tonight the Majors now find themselves seven points down in the race for the Central Division and Eastern Conference; Mississauga does have a game in-hand.
