
Rangers Take 8-4 Win Over Petes

The Kitchener Rangers doubled up the Peterborough Petes 8-4 before a crowd of 6,275 at The Aud.
Peterborough's Jamie Doornbosch scored the only goal of the first period at 7:38 to put the Petes up 1-0. The Petes had an 11-10 shooting advantage during the period.
The Rangers scored twice within two-minutes to take a 2-1 lead before the mid-way mark of the second period. The first goal came from Michael Catenacci who went high to the glove side of Petes netminder Jason Missiaen to tie the game 1-1. Gabriel Landeskog followed his teammate up when he back-handed the puck past Missiaen to take the lead 2-1. Jeff Skinner netted his 20th of the season just past the halfway mark of the period to make it 3-1. The Rangers held a 17-14 shooting edge.
Matt Tipoff gave the Rangers a three goal advantage at the 1:29 mark. Ryan Spooner replied on the Petes power play to narrow the gap to 4-2. Skinner scored his second goal of the game less than a minute later to return the Rangers three goal lead. Julian Cimadamore scored at the 5:36 mark with a helper from Chris MacKinnon. The Petes were quick to reply back with a goal by David Quesnele to make it 6-3. A back-hander by Jason Akeson returned the Rangers four goal lead by the 11:34 mark. Zack Kassian answered back for the Petes with his eighth of the season at 15:18. MacKinnon would close out the scoring 8-4 in the game with 26-seconds left on the clock.
Brandon Maxwell made many outstanding saves in the 36 shots he faced.

Kitchener travels to Guelph this Sunday, December 6th for a 2:00pm game against the Storm.
The Rangers are preparing for the 15th Annual Teddy Bear Toss on Tuesday, December 8th. Fans attending the game are asked to bring a new or gently used teddy bear/stuffed animal to donate.
