Frisco RoughRiders News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders were handed a 4-1 loss by the Corpus Christi Hooks on Sunday from Whataburger Field.
The Hooks (35-43) jumped out in front in the second inning on a Grae Kessinger RBI single and a Sean Mendoza RBI double to make it 2-0.
Kessinger then crushed a two-run homer in the fourth, staking Corpus to a 4-0 advantage before the RoughRiders (47-31) found the board.
Jax Biggers delivered the only RBI of the day for Frisco, knocking in Steele Walker on an RBI fielder's choice in the fifth, but the Riders could draw no closer.
Brett Daniels (2-6) took home the win, allowing just the one run over his five innings while striking out five.
Cole Ragans (0-1) was saddled with his first Double-A loss, ceding two tallies over three innings in his start.
Following a day off on Monday, the RoughRiders are back home for a six-game set against the Amarillo Sod Poodles, beginning on Tuesday, August 3rd at 7:05 p.m. Neither team has announced a starter.
